Be-type Verbs Functioning as Primary Verbs

 

Topic: जब Is/am/are; was/were (Be-type Verbs) मुख्य क्रियाओं के रूप में अकेले आते हैं, बिना किसी दूसरे वर्ब के:

(As Primary/Main Verbs)

 

The present form of Be-type Verbs: Is/am/are

The past form of Be-type Verbs : was/were

 

Usage: जब वाक्य में सब्जेक्ट कोई किर्या नहीं करता l वाक्य में एक्शन वर्ब के स्थान पर Be- Type वर्ब्स का ही प्रयोग किया जाता हैl

Is/am/are; was/were (Be-type Verbs) are used alone when the subject does not perform any action.

 

Keep in mind the following situations while using is/am/are and was/were as primary verbs in sentences.

 

Is/am/are & was/were को प्रयोग करते समय निम्नलिखित Situations को ध्यान में रखिये:

1.To tell about relationship between/among persons. आपसी रिश्ते बताने के लिए, we use Is/am/are; was/were

1.She is my sister.

वह मेरी बहिन हैl

2.He is my uncle.

वह मेरे चाचा जी हैंl

3.You are not my close friend.

आप मेरे घनिष्ठ मित्र नहीं होl

4.They are my students.

वे मेरे विद्यार्थी हैंl

2. To describe persons and things: to describe the negative or positive points. किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु की  नकारात्मक या सकारात्मक विशेषतएं बताना:

1.Mahatma Gandhi was a great man of India.

गांधीजी भारत के महान व्यक्ति थेl

2. They are very hardworking and sincere.

वे बहुत कठिन परिश्रमी और निष्ठावान हैं

3. He is not a dishonest person.

वह बेईमान  व्यक्ति नहीं हैl

4. This scene is very attractive.

यह दृश्य बहुत आकर्षक हैl

5.  He is the son of a politician.

वह एक राजनीतिज्ञ का पुत्र हैl

 

3.To tell about the state of mind and any situation:

किसी बाहरी या स्थिति या मनोस्थिति से सम्बंधित वाक्य:

1.He is very hopeless about his future.

वह अपने भविष्य के बारे में निराश हैl

2. We are very hopeful of getting very good marks.

हमें अच्छे अंक प्राप्त करने की बहुत उम्मीद है

3. She is always in some confusion.

वह सदैव किसी बोंदलाहट में होती है

4.His father is in anger at this time.

इस समय उसके पिताजी गुस्से में हैंl

5.He is in danger now.

वह अब खतरे में हैl

4.To mention about a profession of a person

1. She is a dentist and her father is a musician.

वह एक चिकित्षक है और उसके पताजी एक संगीतिग्यl

2. She is a teacher. वह एक अध्यापिका हैl
